Club News
- New members of the club no longer require a sponsor member, but they must attend a regular monthly meeting to be approved by the board or obtain the signatures of seven board members if they cannot attend. Regular meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 8PM. Check our calendar for details.
- Several disturbing items have been brought to the attention of the board of directors. The first is our policy on paying for skeet and trap round that are shot during off-hours. As you know we have an honor system. You pay in the #1 skeet house when you are done shooting. There seems to be a lot of shooting going on but very little paying. We are now entertaining the idea of installing pay-as-you-go shoot controllers. You will buy tokens good for one round of trap or skeet and use them in a machine when you shoot. If you don't like this idea then you need to do the honorable thing when you are done shooting.
- The second item is that someone is shooting up everything in site on the IDPA range. This is the area to the right of the rifle pavilion. The first bay that you come to is the dedicated pistol bay. Do not shoot at anything in any of the other bays as these are props used to shoot the IDPA game. If you want to join in on IDPA, then come out to the club on the first sunday of each month. The dedicated pistol bay will be closed during the IDPA match which starts at 10:00 AM and usually runs about four hours.
- Several board members have been approached recently about the rifle range and the pistols bays nearby being open to the public. They are not. The only venues open to the public are the ones you pay for: trap, skeet, sporting clays, 5-stand, 22 golf, 22 silhouette, and the high power pistol course. The rifle range and pistol bays are members-only or a member and guest one-time-only. We encourage you to join our club and enjoy the facilities!
- While hunting is permitted on the LCSA grounds, the board of directors, in an effort to help make the club safer, has voted to ban hunting with all centerfire metallic cartridges. You may still hunt with a bow, muzzleloader, shotgun, or .22 rimfire.
